Overview

The Jambay Lhakhang Drub is one of Bhutan’s most vibrant and spiritually significant festivals, celebrated annually at the Jambay Lhakhang, a historic temple in the Bumthang Valley. Typically held in October or November, the festival lasts for several days and is one of the most important religious events in Bhutan. The Jambay Lhakhang Drub honors Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava), a revered Buddhist master who is credited with bringing Buddhism to Bhutan. The festival commemorates his spiritual achievements and his role in spreading the teachings of Buddhism across the Himalayas.
